Can you believe that an independent Sicily rank seventh in the world for wine production? And Sicilians really love their desserts. The best known is Sicilian dessert wine Marsala. This time it was considered a great sweet wine, and if you're careful you can find a good one. Avoid cooking Marsala wine like the plague, even for cooking. Remember, in Sicily and elsewhere, most dessert wines are sold in pint bottles.

Cannoli with Ricotta (Ricotta Stuffed Rolls) are made from flour, cocoa, chocolate, white wine, candied fruit, ricotta cheese, and some other ingredients. They are not so easy to make but this is a dessert that can be found in many Italian bakeries. Couples recommended wines include Malvasia di Bosa DOC made in Sardinia and Sicilian Moscato di Pantelleria DOC that when done raisins are known as Moscato di Pantelleria DOC Passito. This wine is always sweet. You will probably have more luck finding the Moscato.

Cassata alla Siciliana (Sicilian Cassata) is a cake, not to be confused with a frozen treat the same name. It starts with a cake and have lots and lots of ingredients such as chocolate, chestnut flour and ricotta cheese. After the oven is added apricot jam, candied fruit, and more. Couples recommended wines include Sicilian DOC Malvasia delle Lipari, which can be done in the style of Passito, the Sicilian Moscato di Siracusa DOC, or DOC Moscato di Trani Puglia. You may have trouble finding these wines and replace a sweet Italian Moscato.

Cotognata (Quince) is a traditional Sicilian dessert, often in the form of a leaf or a fish. Do not forget to add the lemon and sugar. Couples recommended wines include Moscato di Pantelleria DOC Moscato di Siracusa DOC Moscato di Trani DOC and.

Acting Panzerotti due Formaggi (Cheese Panzerotti) are half-moons of pastry covered with honey, the secret is two Italian specialty cheese, grated Pecorino Siciliano and fewer buckets Cacioavallo Silano. Also calls for flour, butter, orange peel and lemon, and olive oil. Serve warm with one of the wines above or Moscato di Noto Sicilia DOC. You can search the Metro name on the label.
